Even our most conventional Humbucker sounds better than other PAF style pickups.
P.A.F Plus v2
A much improved PAF which works better in the neck position than conventional humbuckers and is excellent for the bridge position too if you want heaps more clarity and punchy dynamics than a regular humbucker. Featuring vastly improved Tone / definition / clarity on the low wound strings with minimized blurring from the low notes in the neck position, thanks to Kinman’s Triple Alnico Tone advantage. The neck position has well defined and clear low notes that have a hint of twang and a nice little dose of piano tones in the mids.
If you want a humbucker with exceptional Zero-Hum split single coil sound please consider the Converge-3 which produces a great Fender sound in split mode.
P.A.F Plus Fat Custom
This special model retains the warm fatness and thump of conventional humbuckers on the low wound strings, definitely a few steps back from single coil territory, while having a very noticeable improvement on the 3D effect over ordinary humbuckers. It does an incredible balancing act between that typical murky humbucker sound and single coil clarity similar to that of our 59+ LPS. It's great for Heavy Rock all the way along the sonic spectrum to Blues and it's especially good for Jazz .... and it's good for stuff in-between too. One customer rated it as the best Jazz humbucker he has ever tried, saying "this one is special, it seems to have a certain magic that I have not heard before and I'm wrapped".
The Baseplate is laser engraved with all Identity info and unique Serial number.
The neck pickup in the PAF Suite. (P.A.F+ neck & P.A.F Astound)
There are countless PAF copies available so I wanted to do something different …. an improved PAF by accenting the best characteristics of the classic PAF sound. This is the Kinman version of the classic PAF vintage Humbucker with Kinman's Triple Alnico Tone advantage.
Remarkable for it’s piano-like mid tones, increased touch sensitivity and dynamic response which are vastly improved compared to a vintage PAF style humbucker. Also it has better midrange detail and noticeably sweeter highs.
It growls when pushed on the wound strings in the bridge position and sings sweetly on the plain strings with an intense harmonic bloom. Plain strings sound better than they do with conventional PAF style humbuckers even though these are quite powerful.
Recommended for Neck position, also the Bridge position with a Kinman Extra Vintage or P90-Bucker in the neck position for a nice and sweet both-on-together sound and is great for both neck and bridge positions on Arch-top Jazz guitars too. Noticeably better than any conventional humbucker in the neck position which have the usual characteristic of tending to be woofy & mushy with a big lack of definition of the wound strings.
Direct replacement for conventional humbuckers such as Gibson, Duncan etc. Some guitars (a few Ibanez, some Fender Strat and one or two others) have pickups with excessively rounded corners. If a pickguard is fitted (for example Fender Strat Deluxe) a small modification to the pickguard opening to accommodate a Kinman humbucker is well worth the effort since Kinman's sound so much better.

Ssssshh. She's sleeping now after surgery and a good work out today. Install yesterday went extremely well and saved some initial fine tuning until today. This combo is AWESOME. Hits all the hallmarks of the original Gibby pups but the balance, clarity, clean, punch and crunch take it to the next level with these fabulous P.A.F Astound and P.A.F Fat Custom. Thrilled with entire process as usual and thanks for making my keeper even more of a keeper !!

Hi Joe and Chris, the new Fat Custom neck humbucker has the perfect recipe. There is plenty of meat on the bone and the G, B and E strings are sweet and clear but not too bright, and they can be brightened up to the limits of what I sometimes need. It was very easy to make just a couple of tweaks to find the sweet spot.
This us definitely the right pickup on this guitar. My Schecter is thinner than a Les Paul and the ratio of the maple to mahogany in the body is greater making it a bit brighter, and the Fat Custom has supplied the desired plumpness across the strings. I think it might suit chambered Les Pauls which I have often found to be brighter than the traditional heavyweights. The Fat Custom pairs well with the PAF Astound in the bridge on the Schecter and can cover from smooth jazz to heavy rock and all points in between. I am very happy with the outcome. This guitar is complete now and I can't see any need to change.
Thank you Joe and Chris. You guys work hard with spirit and dedication and integrity. This does not go by unnoticed. You are talented and motivated men and you understand the importance of perspiration and inspiration. Most importantly you conduct yourselves with grace and affability. It seems to be a forgotten accolade in the modern world but real men are gentlemen. All the best to you two gentlemen, regards Paul
I have the Impersonator 54 and PAF Astound HSS setup fitted in my favourite Parker Nitefly. Wow!! The sound really nails what I was looking for - some authentic bell-like strat tones from the singles along with some player-sensitive creamy bite from the humbucker. The volume balance is just awesome. The guitar sounds like it really should now - incredibly versatile and all round fantastic. If anybody else should seek advice on doing a Parker Nitefly, you can confidently recommend the setup I've just installed. Thanks for all your help and for a brilliant Aussie product. All the best, Tim Keech
Dear Mr. Kinman, I want to thank you for these heavenly sounding pickups. They are so good. I got both a PAF Plus and an Astound and installed them into my Ibanez S251BBS. I really love the pickups because they sound so incredibly good. thanks for these great pickups! Sincerely, Christof (Germany)
